10-Month Closure: LA 528 Bridge Over Clarke Bayou Shut Down Starting Dec. 1
It would appear that recent bridge inspections throughout Louisiana were inspiration enough for the DOTD to release any necessary funds to address possible safety hazards.

Adding merit to that argument is the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's latest announcement that another north Louisiana bridge will soon be replaced with a new bridge.
In this latest announcement, we learn the DOTD will replace the LA 528 bridge over Clarke Bayou in eastern Bossier Parish and work is scheduled to begin next Monday, December 1, 2025.
The $2.6 million project will replace the current bridge which was built in 1976.

Along with the closure and removal of the current bridge, the construction of the new bridge will include clearing and grubbing to remove vegetation in the work area, grading, drainage structures, milling asphalt concrete, pavement repairs, roadway base repairs, and related work.
This bridge is located approximately 2.2 miles east of LA 157.
This closure is anticipated to last approximately 10 months, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that may impact construction timelines.
Obviously this will be a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will be required to utilize an alternate route. Detour signage will be posted.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
