DeSoto Parish Traffic Alert: LA 513 Bridge Closing for Total Rebuild
A DeSoto Parish bridge will soon close for several months so the entire structure can be rebuilt.

According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the Office of Louisiana Highway Construction (OLHC), is managing construction activities for this project, so all inquiries will need to be directed to OLHC.
What we know is that beginning Monday, December 29, the LA 513 bridge over Brushy Bayou north of the Pelican community in DeSoto Parish will be closed for replacement.
This bridge is located approximately 1.8 miles north of the intersection with LA 483.
The closure is anticipated to last approximately four months, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that may impact construction timelines.
This is a total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route. Appropriate detour signage will be in place.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
