It's a legitimate question that I had to ask of Kelly Rouse from Shreveport. When do you sleep?

Kelly Rouse Caught in the Act

I had to ask, because as I read her nomination letter from dear friend Susan, it became obvious to me that there's no way Kelly can get much shut-eye because her life is filled with dedication, kindness and a commitment to helping everyone in her incredibly wide circle.

Just take a look at that nomination letter and you'll see how easy it was to name Kelly Rouse this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Kelly Rouse wears many hats—and wears them all with grace, grit, and that signature radiant smile! She’s the director of the Community School at Holy Angels, and she also serves as the Chair of the Governor’s Rare Disease Advisory Council. And she’s also a devoted mom to two amazing kids—Baker, a travel ball player, and Rowen, one of the bright lights of the school that Kelly proudly calls her second home. She doesn’t even call it work—because for Kelly, this is passion. This is purpose. Married to Trey, whose job keeps him on the road often, Kelly juggles work, parenting, and baseball mom life like a pro—many days flying solo, but always getting it done. For over 20 years, she’s been a tireless advocate for children with special needs, championing their voices with unshakable determination and compassion. That work earned her a nomination for the National Remarkable Women Award last year—and she traveled to Hollywood to represent NWLA with pride. And when the winner was announced, no one in that room cheered louder than Kelly. That’s who she is. When she organized what she thought would be a “small gathering” for Rare Disease Day at the State Capitol, more than 400 people showed up. A powerful testament to the impact she has and the trust people have in her vision. And she does all of this—not for praise, not for attention—but because she knows this is her calling. Right here in Shreveport, across the state of Louisiana, and beyond, Kelly is changing lives. And don’t even get me started on what an incredible friend she is. That deserves its own story. Kelly—aka "KRo"—we see you, we appreciate you, and we LOVE you. This community is better because of YOU.

Kelly Rouse, because you've been 'Caught in the Act', John and the gang at the Magnolia Pit have a $50 gift certificate for you to come enjoy a great meal!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Kelly to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
