Wow, there's a lot going on here in Kiss Country's corner of Northwest Louisiana this weekend. Along with the State Fair and Veteran's Day activities, we've got high school football playoffs and even a carnival. We've tried to list everything we know of but we're sure to have missed something so feel free to add it below.

-LSU Shreveport, One University Place, 11 a.m. at the flagpole in the center of the campus; military historian and author Gary D. Joiner will speak; also, posting of the colors by the Barksdale Air Force Base Honor Guard, the playing of the national anthem by Arther Chatman and a reading of the traditional poem “In Flanders Field.” More info: (318) 797-5390.

-Vets for Vets Biker Rally, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,River Park Church (formerly Hamel’s Park),3232 E. 70th St., Shreveport. Motorcyclists participating in the rally will pay a registration fee. Admission is $3, children under 12 free with an adult. Participating bikers will ride through the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home driveway circle. -Louisiana Military Hall of Heroes Induction Ceremony, 12:30-1:30 .pm., Shreveport Municipal Auditorium,705 Elvis Presley Ave.,Shreveport. Lowe-McFarlane American Legion Post 14 Commander Stephen J. Lavery will relate the history of the Municipal Auditorium and the role the Legion played in erection of the historic building. Cleauthor Sanders, a Montford Point Marine recently honored by the U.S. Congress and featured in The Times, will be inducted into the Louisiana Military Hall of Heroes.
-Louisiana Veterans Honor Parade, 2-4 p.m., Louisiana State Fair Grounds, 3701 Hudson Ave., Shreveport, with Barksdale Air Force Base B-52 Flyover at 2:02 p.m. Closing day of the State Fair of Louisiana, a parade consisting of floats, marching bands, ROTC drill teams and veterans organizations will parade down the midway beginning at the Fair Grounds Field baseball stadium, ending at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum. Ron Chatelain, Louisiana’s most decorated living resident veteran, will be the grand marshal. Chatelain is the recipient of the Distinguished Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star and five Purple Hearts. Free admission and free parking for all veterans and their families.

Monday, Nov. 12, 2012
- “America’s Veterans: Heroes Then … Heroes Now!” Military Tattoo Ceremony, 9 a.m., Boys’ Gymnasium at Parkway High School,2010 Colleen Drive, Bossier City. Ron Chatelain, Louisiana’s most decorated living resident veteran, will be the honoree at Parkway High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC Military Tattoo Ceremony. Program will feature a saber team, drum corps, drill team, dance line performance, choral selection, service medley, a flag-folding ceremony including the playing of taps and an enlistment ceremony of high school students.
-NEW: Veterans Tribute, 11 a.m., in Anderson Auditorium in the Hurley School of Music at Centenary College, 2911 Centenary Blvd., Shreveport (Woodlawn Avenue side). Guest speakers are Lt. Gen. James Kowalski, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, and Centenary College President Dr. David Rowe. Event also will include a Yellow Ribbon Program presentation. More info: (318) 869-5073.
-Texas Roadhouse, 1005A Gould Drive, Bossier City, will offer veterans and active-duty military a free lunch. They can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers.
-Golden Corral,7520 Youree Drive in Shreveport, will offer veterans a free meal between 4 and 9 p.m.
-Boomtown Casino Hotel in Bossier City will offer veterans a free meal at its Cattleman's Buffet, with breakfast/lunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or dinner from 5-9 p.m. Valid for veterans, active duty and retired military personnel with valid ID; companion meals are full price. Info: (337) 395-7631.
-Horseshoe Casino and Harrah’s Louisiana Downs will offer veterans free buffets to veterans and active-duty personnel with military ID at The Spread, inside Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, from 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., and at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs, across from the Inside Rail, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In ‘Skyfall,’ Agent M’s past comes back to haunt her and James Bond’s loyalty is put to the ultimate test in the latest 007 installment. 'Skyfall' is directed by Sam Mendes. 'Skyfall' stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench and Javier Bardem.

Nature Calls’ tells the story of brothers Randy and Kirk, who have never gotten along. Things don’t get any better when Randy takes over Kirk’s son’s sleepover for an unforgettable scouting trip. 'Nature Calls' is directed by Todd Rohal. 'Nature Calls' stars Johnny Knoxville, Patton Oswalt and Rob Riggle.

Don’t be fooled by the title: ‘The Comedy’ is a dark, subversive tale of an aging hipster wandering aimlessly through life with his friends and waiting for his father to die so he can claim his inheritance. 'The Comedy' is directed by Rick Alverson. 'The Comedy' stars Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim and Roxanne Ferris.
