I remember watching "The Sandlot" over and over again as a kid. It's the movie that taught me what a crush was. Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez gave me butterflies and made me want a black pair of converse because they made you run fast. Every kid should watch the movie. It will make you love baseball and the Fourth of July. "The Sandlot" is an hour and a half of nostalgia. When you get the opportunity to see "The Sandlot" you take it. Summer & Twilight Talkies: "The Sandlot" is a public event hosted by R.W. Norton Art Gallery. According to the Facebook Post by R.W. Norton Art Gallery you and your family can enjoy a "summer-inspired range of activities" on Friday, May 24th. The gallery teamed up with the Bossier Parish Library, and the Red River Wildlife Refuge. There will be lawn games and food trucks. The free event runs from 5:00-8:00 p.m. All we know is that the movie will start when it gets darker until then have fun with your family while not breaking the bank.

"As it grows darker, we can all sit down with our popcorn and drinks and watch the 1993 coming-of-age comedy, The Sandlot, about the trials and tribulations of the members of a kids’ “sandlot” baseball team. Join us to bring in the new season – maybe we’ll even hear a cuckoo or two in the trees!" R.W. Norton Gallery Facebook
