Thirty-four years ago this month, Clint Black skyrocketed to fame with his debut album Killin' Time. The on May 2, 1989 release boasts four consecutive No. 1 singles, as well as a No. 3 hit, and went on to be certified triple platinum.

Black's second record, Put Yourself in My Shoes, was released in 1990 and nabbed him another triple-platinum album. The "Class of '89" member joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1991 and continued releasing records year after year -- more than 20 studio and compilation records in total, the most recent being 2015's On Purpose.

Throughout his storied career, Black has celebrated 22 No. 1 singles (all of which he wrote or co-wrote), a Grammys trophy, several CMA and ACM awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and more than 20 million albums sold. All the while, he's continued to tour, including on 2019's Still ... Killin' Time Tour and the Hits. Hats. History. Tour with Trace Adkins.
