DOTD Announces Nighttime Closures For Bossier City I-20
For those unaware, the I-20 major rehab project throughout Bossier City is nearing completion.

A little over a week ago, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development once again allowed commercial traffic back on I-20 after being prohibited since December of 2023.
Certainly a sign that we are nearing the end! However, as crews work feverishly to complete this multi-year project, we are advised by DOTD that they've reached a point where they will be required to make a couple of closures to allow for permanent roadway striping operations to take place.

In the most recent notice from DOTD, we learn that on the nights of Monday, June 1st, Tuesday, June 2nd and Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the following ramps in Bossier City will be closed:
- I-20 westbound to I-220 westbound (Exit 26)
- I-20 eastbound to I-220 westbound (Exit 26)
These ramp closures are scheduled to take place from approximately 7:00 pm to 6:00 am each night and during these closures, I-20 westbound motorists will continue on to I-20 westbound. Drivers wishing to access I-220 may do so via the LA 782-2 (Industrial Drive) exit to US 80 (E. Texas St) to I-220. This same Industrial Drive exit will work for any eastbound motorists wishing to access I-220.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
