It's the latest viral event sweeping the nation and now it's headed to downtown Shreveport, LA... and it all started in Louisiana - New Orleans to be exact!

What is the Mrs. Roper Romp?

Do you remember the TV show, Three's Company? It was on the air for eight seasons from 1976 to 1984 and featured John Ritter, Suzanne Somers, Joyce Dewitt, Don Knots, and the famous Mrs. Roper, the landlady, Audra Lindley. The best summary of the show I could find was on IMDB.com and it says, 'The misadventures of two women and one man living in one apartment and their neighbors.' And that's exactly it, in a nutshell.

Okay, now that you know Mrs. Roper was the landlady on Three's Company, what the heck is her 'romp' all about? It's a viral party started in honor of the character Helen Roper in 2013 in New Orleans, LA, when 50 women got together and marched in the Southern Decadence parade dressed as you guessed it, Mrs. Roper, who's known for wearing colorful caftans.

When is the Mrs. Roper Romp happening in Shreveport?

I am so glad you asked because my friends Emerie and Jana have put together Shreveport's first-ever Mrs. Roper Romp for Friday, May 31, 2024, and here are the details!

I've already ordered my caftan, jewelry, wig, and sunglasses. To be fair, several of my friends already have caftans, but I'm not going to call them out... they wear them daily, the poor things! Either way, regardless of whether you already have a caftan or not, it's time for Caftans and Cocktails! Come on knock on our door...
