The new season of The Voice is here and last night, we got to see this Shreveport, LA favorite successfully turn coach Reba McEntire's chair! But first, a little info on NWLA's own Al Boogie!

If you like your music with a side of twang and a nice beard, you're going to love NBC's 24th season of The Voice and cheering on our own Al Boogie aka Alex Troegel. And if you've been paying attention, you'll realize that we've seen this musician on The Voice before.

Who the heck is Al Boogie and why do we care that he's on season 24 of The Voice?

If you've never seen Ole Whiskey Revival, you're missing out. Think honky tonk southern rock outlaw country. I absolutely love watching these guys play and try to catch their shows whenever I can. Alex Troegel aka Al Boogie, their lead singer, from Mansfield, was actually already a contestant on The Voice earlier this year, and lo and behold, he's made a return trip... this time successfully turning Reba's chair!

In addition to Reba McEntire coaching this season, the other celebrity singers and coaches this season are John Legend, Niall Horan, and Gwen Stefani.

Alex is the 37-year-old son of Bill and Sherri Troegel. He grew up in Mansfield, went to LSU Shreveport, and is married to Stacey Lynn Brown Troegel. He's also a father, a dog dad, a good musician, an entertainer, and by all accounts, a good guy.

What does the future hold for Alex? He can't say. But I sure hope his journey takes him straight to the finals and then on to fame and fortune!
