Shreveport Teen Arrested for Shooting at Caddo Deputy
Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested an 18 year-old suspect in connection with a shooting incident involving a Caddo Deputy.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office worked diligently to collect evidence that identified 18 year-old Daraylan Ray as the suspect.
As a result of their efforts, CPSO obtained an arrest warrant for Ray, charging him with Attempted Second Degree Murder. The warrant was signed by Judge Hathaway.
A Sheriff's Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a dark-colored Nissan Altima on Colquitt Road in Shreveport. The driver pulled into the Colony Apartments, exited the vehicle, and ran toward one of the apartments. The suspect stopped, pulled a long rifle, and fired several rounds at the deputy. One round struck the Deputy's vehicle, but fortunately, the deputy was not injured.
Ray's information was rapidly disseminated to members of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Louisiana State Police, and other local law enforcement agencies, initiating the search for him.
Yesterday, Ray was found at a business and was arrested without incident. He was then taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
From CPSO:
"We would like to thank all the federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies that assisted in capturing this dangerous fugitive.
The investigation is still ongoing."
