It’s National Hangover Day and Here’s the Best Cures
Not only is it New Year's Day, the first day of 2019, but understandably, it's also National Hangover Day! With so many partying to the max last night, and paying the price for it this morning, but still wanting to be well enough to watch LSU in the Fiesta Bowl today, it's time to cure that hangover.
And with that goal in mind, we've discovered some of the absolute best hangover cures known. Those that will certainly bring you out of that laying on the bathroom floor, commode hugging hangover!
* Mexican Coca Cola. Not the traditional Coke brewed right here in the United States, but that wonderful Coke from south of the border can truly bring you back to life. Get a 24 count case on Amazon for only $54.95
*Bagels. To help replace lost sodium and potassium bagels will definitely make you feel better. And when you add cream cheese and bacon, you get an added dose of protein which will help to neutralize the irritating acids in your stomach.
*Orange Juice. Because of the acid-neutralizing effects you get from a big glass of orange juice, your stomach will feel better and once the OJ is metabolized, you'll get a much needed dose of potassium making it an awesome source of hydration to combat the effects of that hangover.
*Bananas with honey. In an article on cosmopolitan.com, we learn that bananas deliver the much needed potassium you need when suffering from a hangover, and that also contain vitamins C and B6 which help to neutralize free radicals that negatively affect the liver after drinking.
*Eat a breakfast, but go easy. Stay away from the greasy foods and go for something like toast or cereal. Electrolytes in food help replenish a dehydrated system and get calories back into your body.
*Pedialyte. Scores of near professional party animals say it has awesome hangover eliminating abilities and reduces symptoms like nausea, vomiting and dehydration.
Exercise is also said to help bring you back around to near normal, but my absolute favorite is - GO BACK TO BED. In an article from everydayhealth.com, it's suggested that just taking naps the day after can give the body the chance to heal itself.
Happy New Year's and hope you're well enough to laugh about it being National Hangover Day.
