I-20 Exit Closed: Shreveport Drivers Affected This Saturday
Mother Nature had other ideas for the planned construction work on I-20 last weekend, so drivers should prepare an alternate route in west Shreveport this Saturday, April 12.

You might recall the recent accident on I-20 East at LA 3132 East that took out a sign truss and stopped traffic for most of the day.
Well, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development had planned to remove that truss this past Saturday, April 5, but the torrential rains prevented crews for doing the needed work.
Because of that, DOTD has advised that they will perform that work this Saturday, April 12, beginning at 7:00 am until approximately 2:00 pm.
During those hours, the I-20 eastbound to LA 3132 eastbound ramp in will be closed.
Drivers need to know that the I-20 eastbound to I-220 eastbound ramp will remain open and serve as the detour for this closure. Detour signage will be in place.
Of course, this work will be done weather permitting and should inclement weather set in like it did this past Saturday, the day/hours could be postponed, extended or altered in other ways.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
