Benton Road Lane Closures Guaranteed To Slow Traffic
If your normal travels take you up or down Benton Road in Bossier City, you might want to think about an alternate route for the next few days.

According to a notice from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, motorists are advised that beginning today, Wednesday, December 18, there will be intermittent lane closures on the northbound and southbound inside lanes of LA 3 (Benton Road) near its intersection with the new Walter O. Bigby Carriageway (WOBC) in Bossier City.
These lane closures are anticipated to be in place for approximately one week, and are necessary to allow the contractor for the recently constructed WOBC to perform work on the concrete barrier island located on Benton Road.
As a reminder, the WOBC project is being managed by the City of Bossier City. Inquiries about the project itself or related work should be directed to the city.
Of course, this work will be performed weather permitting, so inclement weather could postpone, extend or alter the scheduled workdays or hours.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
