If You Want to Vote by Mail, Order Your Ballot Now
There's been a lot of talk about mail in voting for the November election. Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin has submitted a proposal which grants the privilege of early voting to folks who might be dealing with COVID-19. But Governor John Bel Edwards is not on board with the Ardoin plan which is still pending before lawmakers.
We spoke with Caddo Parish Registrar of Voters Dale Sibley about the voting plan for November. He also discusses the proposal for a satellite location for early voting.
Governor Edwards wants lawmakers to add more people to the list of those who qualify to vote by mail.

Normally mail in ballots are only allowed for some specific folks including the military and anyone over aged 65. You can also vote by mail if you work offshore, you're a member of the clergy assigned to an area outside of your normal voting home. There are some other exceptions. You can see the full list on the Voter Registrar website.
But during an emergency, some changes can be made and that is what lawmakers have been hashing out this week.
