Scotty McCreery, winner of the 10th season of American Idol, wastes no time trading his win in for chart numbers as “I Love You This Big” arrives on the Country charts at #32.

McCreery’s debut is the highest for a brand new artist's first single since the chart converted to BDS (Broadcast Data Service) data the week of Jan. 20, 1990.

McCreery isn't the only "Idol" finalist from this season to parlay exposure on American Idol to a Country Music career,  as runner-up Lauren Alaina hits the charts at No. 49 with "Like My Mother Does."

This week’s radio airplay  for "Big" and "Like" will likely boost expected debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 (to be announced Thursday).  McCreery's song could possibly see top 10 status, while Alaina's will probably enter in the top 20.
