A Shreveport man is accused of hate crimes for messages he left at a local church. 67 year-old David Tefertiller allegedly left racially threatening notes at the campus of Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist Church on Greenwood Road in west Shreveport.

Church leaders have found several threatening notes in the park lot over the past few months.

KTBS reports the notes contained "racially charged threats and hostile messages about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who is honored with a memorial next to the church."

Pastor Bishop Fred Caldwell Sr. is not commenting on these threats. He does not want to encourage copycats.

Tefertiller was arrested at his home on Greenwood Road which is near the church. His bond has been set at $100,000.
