Most of the country above the Mason-Dixon line will soon be treated to the beauty of the changing colors of the leaves and cooler temperatures.

However, here in the South, specifically Louisiana, though the Autumnal Equinox (first day of Fall) will supposedly begin at 1:19 pm Central today, we just aren't buying it.

With temperatures still soaring into the 90's on a daily basis, trees still topped in their summer's finest, drunk Mother Nature has yet to show any signs of Fall around here.  Although, the Weather Channel says we could see a little relief from the heat beginning this Wednesday with a chance for rain and a high only in the mid 80's.

We know it's just not fall until some local weatherman interrupts most of the LSU football game to tell us about a storm in Oklahoma.

It's just not fall until everyone in the line at 4:00 am on a Saturday morning at the Circle K cash register is wearing camouflage (or their best LSU gear as they prepare to head south for the game)

No, I'm sorry, it's just not Fall yet. In fact, you can see from these responses that the vast majority of locals in Northwest Louisiana agree that there are certain indicators that Fall is upon us, and those things just haven't happened yet.
