Emily Dickinson is blessed to call Frances Snider her mother, but because Emily took the nominate to nominate her Mom for the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award, we can all relate to just how awesome her Mom is!

Frances is a soft spoken country girl driving a bus in Elysian Fields and if know her, you know that the words Emily wrote about her Mom are pure truth. Just see her nomination letter and you'll quickly understand why Frances had to be this week's recipient of the Caught in the Act Award. She's just amazing!

While the term “Do Gooder” is often used in a negative manner, when I think of the phrase I automatically think of my mom “Frances Snider”. She is the perfect example of what it means to do good for others. As far back as I can remember my mom has been on the move. She often reminds me of a busy bee, going from flower to flower. For my mom her flowers are the people whose lives she has impacted. Sometimes that flower was a child on her school bus. See my mom has been driving a bus for 20+ years in our small community. I don’t always think people understand the importance of a caring bus driver, but they are often the first and last person to see your child each day other than yourself. After 20 years my mom has driven thousands of children. I often run into her former students and they will tell me how much they loved my mom because she made them feel important. She would bring them little cookies for their birthday or a little something for graduation. That’s not including the ones that never knew she had done something for them. My mom does so much behind the scenes to help her children that only very few people are aware of. Other times that flower was a friend. My mom is the definition of a loyal, dedicated friend, whether she shows that in a meal, a simple phone call or just sitting with you when you need someone the most. I’ve seen her drop everything she was doing to go and sit with a friend whose husband had just passed away so that she didn’t have to wait alone. I’ve seen her cook meals when people were in some of their saddest days. But, my mom’s most beautiful flowers, that she has tended to and taken care of endlessly is her family. My parents have been married for over 30 years; in those 30 years my mom has made sure that my dad always has a warm fresh meal waiting on him when he returns home from work. She raised my sister and I, never missing a game, band concert or choir performance. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with us. Now that we are all grown up she devotes that time to loving her 4 wonderful grandbabies.
My mom is my ultimate hero. I look at her in awe and amazement at the wonderful person she is and I’m so very proud to be her daughter.

Frances Sninder, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Frances to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
