The Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services has now received the approval it needs to begin Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) in 23 Parishes affected by the winter storms including Caddo and Bossier Parishes.

DSNAP will be providing food assistance to households eligible and who are not receiving regular SNAP benefits. It will help people who are having trouble keeping food on the table due to loss of income from the winter storms. People who lost income due to power, water, and other damage due to the February winter storms could be eligible for benefits.

The following Parishes are eligible for the DSNAP benefits. AVOYELLES, BIENVILLE, BOSSIER, CADDO, CALCASIEU, CATAHOULA, CLAIBORNE, CONCORDIA, DESOTO, EAST BATON ROUGE, FRANKLIN, GRANT, LASALLE, MADISON, NATCHITOCHES, OUACHITA, RAPIDES, RED RIVER, RICHLAND, SABINE, WEBSTER, WEST CARROLL AND WINN.
