Don't Miss Comet NEOWISE Zipping Past Earth

Stargazers, there's a once in a lifetime treat for you to enjoy in the next couple weeks. Every 6,800 years you can catch a glimpse of Comet NEOWISE zooming through the inner solar system. So yes, now is the time to grab your binoculars or a small telescope and get ready to brag to your fellow stargazing friends that you saw IT. Our window to see this magnificent comet will pass by quickly. July 15th through July 24th is when we can catch a glimpse.

NASA’s Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE) mission discovered the 2-mile wide comet on March 27, 2020. So that is where the name NEOWISE comes from. If you don't have binoculars or a telescope the massive Comet will most likely look like a small fuzzy star with a tiny tail. So if you're invested in seeing this comet make an investment in binoculars or a small telescope.

Here is what NASA recommended you do to catch the best glimpse of Comet NEOWISE:

Find a spot away from city lights with an unobstructed view of the sky
Just after sunset, look below the Big Dipper in the northwest sky
If you have them, bring binoculars or a small telescope to get the best views of this dazzling display
