Dina Emerson Is This Week’s Recipient of Caught in the Act Award [VIDEO]

My Daddy always told me that a person should always leave a place better than they found it. Apparently my Dad also spoke to Dina Emerson, because she's made it her mission to make her community a lot better than she found it.

Dina's niece, Courtney Goble, wrote us an amazing nomination letter, that made this week's selection of Dina Emerson, for the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award, a simple one.

Selfless.. heart of gold...loyal...loving -- these are all words to describe my Aunt Dina. Dina is truly a person that comes into your life and gives you hope that there are still good people out in the world doing things for others. Dina has a heart for animals. Her job requires her to be on county roads and highways every single day and she is constantly coming across stray animals who have been injured or just left behind on purpose, and she takes them in and carries them to the vet....and more times then not she ends up adopting them and giving them a warm and loving home. Dina also has a heart for people. She is one of those types of people who just does things without expecting anything in return. She mows countless yards of people who cannot do it themselves and never asks for a dime. She checks on all of her elderly neighbors constantly- running errands for them or fixin g things for them. Last year I had to have a medical procedure done very suddenly and she took off work with one days notice to carry me to the hospital and stayed with me all day. Giving to others is constantly on her mind - she is always trying to find ways to help someone else out in one way or another. I cant list all of her good deeds because she doesn't tell them...she is just a blessing to others and expects no recognition at all. But I think she deserves to be recognized for her caring spirit and selfless attitude. It is an honor to know her and call her my aunt.

Dina Emerson, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
