Each week, Gary and Bristol take your nominations so that they can catch someone in the act of 'doing good' and recognize them in front of the whole wide world!

This week's recipient is one of those guys that you're glad to have in your circle. Derek Cody was nominated by his wife Angela who told us all about his service to his family and church community, which is why he earned the distinction of being named this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just take a look at the letter we got from Angela:

Derek Cory is my husband. He is the rock of our family. He works 13-16 hours daily to provide for us so that I am able to stay home and homeschool our three children. He works tirelessly and when he does get a few hours off, he helps coach our sons baseball team at Shreveport Dixie. He spends his Wednesdays cleaning our church’s temple, and on weekends he gets to church 2 hours before services start so that he can make sure everything is prepared and ready for our priest, then he stays after to vacuum and clean up after everyone has left. He’s been doing this for almost 10 years now. He takes a week of vacation so that he can spend Holy Week at all of our services which are morning and night every day that week as well as he serves the church during this time as well. And he never wants any credit for anything. He does it all behind closed doors and never shows off how much he does. He always tells me he does it because it’s for the Lord, not for anyone else. He does All of this after he works the way that he does. Lately, we’ve only seen him for about an hour a day because he works so hard. We are so thankful to have him as a husband and father to our children. Couldn’t think of a better person that is so deserving to be recognized.

Thank you for being an all-around good guy, Derek!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silverstar has a $100 Gift Certificate for you to have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Derek to let him know that he was this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient.
