From the first time he appeared on our television sets during the fourth season of Nashville Star, Chris Young has managed to stay in the limelight.

As he won the program in 2006, he was rewarded a recording contract with RCA Records and later that year released his self-titled debut album and rocked the country world by opening at number three on the charts at only 21 years of age.

His string of country smashes including Aw Naw, Who I Am With You, Voices, Gettin' You Home and The Man I Want To Be, have made him a country mainstay for nearly a decade.

Most recently, in April, he beat out Brantley Gilbert and Gary Allan to top Country Weekly's list of "Country's Hottest Bachelors."

Then on June 7, while cooking in his kitchen, he cut his left hand severely enough to require surgery and won't be able to play his guitar until he's fully rehabilitated from the accident.  Of course, even severed tendons could only temporarily slow him down from his passion; performing on stage.

And now, he's making headlines right here in Shreveport/Bossier as he prepares for his concert this Friday night, July 11 at 8:00 at the Horseshoe Riverdome.

At this writing, tickets are sold out according to Ticketmaster.com, but the site does remind us to keep checking back as sometimes tickets become available closer to the show.

However, make sure you're listening to Kiss Country later this week for your chance to win tickets and backstage passes with Gary and Julie's "Ticket Trivia" in the morning show.
