Chris Henry is Recipient of Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award
As a father of two, Chris Henry knew that if he ever wanted his daughters to bring home young men of value, he'd have to take an active roll in grooming those young men!
With that, he launched the program "Boys to Young Men" and his efforts have not gone unnoticed. In fact, his friend, Mike Powell, has been so impressed, he sent us the letter below as he nominated Chris for the prestigious "Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award."
One look at Mike's letter and we knew that Chris was an easy pick for this week's award!
Chris Henry is an incredible and selfless person. He not only is a firefighter for SFD but he founded a local mentoring program called "Boys to Young Men" designed to help young boys. He provides these boys with a positive role models, advice, and support to help shape these young boys into independent, goal oriented, and strong young men. The mission of his program is to instill P.O.W.E.R. (Purpose, Order, Wisdom, Empowerment, and Restoration) into the kids who participate. He has held an unbelievable amount of fundraisers in order to better the lives of so many boys and their families. Chris takes these young boys and is molding them into amazing individuals and putting them on the right path for success. He was recently asked how much he spends out of his pocket and his only answer was "I stopped counting. He is a vital member of community and involved in so many other charities, including Roy's Kids. He goes above and beyond for so many people in our community, including B2YM, and deserves some recognition for the hard word that he does.
Chris Henry, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and being a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse and Silver Star Grille have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Chris to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
