Michelle Harris is one of those people. And not only is Michelle's story an amazing one, it was told to us by her step daughter.

Step kids aren't supposed to think their step parents are amazing are they? That's not the case with Trisha Harris. She thinks her step mom is amazing!

And after the letter she wrote us, we do too! That's why Michelle is this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

My step mom Michelle Harris is the kind of person to put others needs before her own. She drops whatever she is doing to help her family and friends. When my step sister was diagnosed with cancer Michelle would go down to New Iberia to help with my nephews every weekend and sometimes stay for weeks. And when my nephew was in the hospital with a tumor she dropped what she was doing here in Shreveport to rushed down to help. When she is at work, she tries to better the company and would try her hardest to help her co workers even if it makes them look better. When she used to teach at bossier parish community collage she would go out of her way to help her students so that way their futures were bright. If she saw anyone or anything in need she would help. She rescued a dog and her puppy from the streets and brought them home. She is the biggest influence in my life and has always done what's best for me and the rest of my family. Before I came to live with her and my dad; She looked at my dad and said she wanted our kids not hers and my dads kids but our kids. She has always seen me as one of her own and it shows. She is my role model. And that is why I think she should get the caught in the act award.

Michelle Harris, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Michelle to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
