This week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award recipient is none other than Chef Ernest Palmisano from Shreveport's legendary Ernest's Orleans Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge!

Each week, Gary and Bristol shine the light on one of our local residents who help to make Kiss Country the greatest place in the world to live!

I've been fortunate enough to know Mr. Palmisano's wonderful wife, Tina, for years! In fact, we had to enlist her help this morning to make sure Chef Ernest would answer the phone. As it is, we definitely woke him up. Chef was nominated by his daughter Joy Harville for his big heart and constant acts of kindness. That's why he has earned the distinction of being named this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just take a look at the letter we got from Joy:

I would like to nominate my Dad, Chef Ernest Palmisano, of Ernest’s Orleans Restaurant.
Over the years I have watched him be a true pillar of this community and truly give back by giving in donations of his time and food. He has helped so many people that have needed a job…people trying to get back on their feet living in halfway houses. He has even provided places for them to stay, let them live with him, and provided transportation for those without.
He feeds the homeless that walk up to our restaurant. He donates and buys bread from the Victory Life Ministry group and stops whatever he is doing to have prayer with them.
He supports his staff and treats them all like family and loves each and every one of his guests that come through the door.
He prides himself on the special customer service and attention that we provide.
On Thursday night he has a senior special for 55 and over for $25 for a meal that would normally cost about $100 as his way of giving back to the elders of our community.
Please help me get him the recognition he deserves. He’s been doing this for 34 yrs.
