Due to coronavirus concerns, Caddo Parish ended the school meal program this week, but after much thought and planning, they've come up with a workable solution to be able to resume the program on Monday, March 30.

Caddo’s Child Nutrition staff has made several modifications to limit contact and decrease risk for both students and staff and will resume breakfast and lunch meal service.

At 18 sites, staff will have 8 meals prepared for each child to collect for the week. The meal packages will include five breakfasts and three lunches. Meals will be distributed from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday at the following sites:

  1. Blanchard Elementary
  2. C.E. Byrd High
  3. Caddo Heights Elementary
  4. Caddo Magnet High
  5. Caddo Middle Magnet
  6. Captain Shreve High
  7. J. S. Clark Elementary
  8. Fair Park Middle
  9. Keithville Elementary/Middle
  10. North Caddo Elementary/Middle
  11. Northside Elementary
  12. Ridgewood Middle
  13. Southern Hills Elementary
  14. Turner Elem/Middle
  15. University Elementary
  16. Walnut Hill Elementary/Middle
  17. Westwood Elementary
  18. Woodlawn High

This revised meal program allows the district to continue meal service while limiting contact. The district’s plan has been reviewed by state officials and approved to proceed. Additionally, the district has requested adequate protective supplies from state offices such as masks for workers as part of distribution efforts.
