However, Brent Moreland was willing to roll the dice and hear what his wife, Ashley, had written about this awesome guy.

In her inspirational nomination letter, Ashley told us of Brent's pure heart and willingness to serve. To serve not only his family, but his church and those in his professional world.

I am honored to tell you about my husband, Brent Moreland. He exemplifies the values of integrity, compassion, and service not only as a devout Christian but also as a devoted family man and outstanding professional. Brent lives his faith daily, not just in church on Sunday mornings but in how he treats others. He leads our family in prayer and our daughter's bedtime prayers. He also volunteers at our church, South Bossier Baptist Church, and is a mentor to others in the community. Through every season of life, he is a supportive husband. Whether it's being my rock through tough times like when my mom passed away from cancer, encouraging me in my career, doing the dishes after a long day, he constantly puts love into action. He's not just a provider, but he's PRESENT. He's helped coach our daughter's soccer and basketball teams, attends every dance recital and parent-teacher meeting, and prioritizes our family dinners. Our daughter, Amy Grace, knows she is seen, heard, and deeply loved. As an International Representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), he goes above and beyond, because he believes in doing all things with excellence. His work ethic and servant leadership have earned the respect of colleagues and supervisors alike. Last year, when a friend's father's pontoon boat needed to be relocated while the rented boat dock's storm damages were being repaired, Brent not only opened his boat dock to our friend's father, but he also helped move the boat for him. For all these reasons and more, I wholeheartedly recommend Brent Moreland for this award. He is often caught in the act- not for recognition but because that's simply who he is.
