The Bossier City Fire Department responded to a fire early Wednesday morning that destroyed a house in the 1800 block of Rodney Street.

Firefighters got the call just after 4:00 a.m. from an occupant of the house after they woke up to the smell of smoke and discovered the fire. All three occupants got of the house unharmed before the first fire crews arrived on scene within four minutes. By that time the fire had quickly engulfed the single-story wood framed structure.

It took firefighters about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control. The fire also destroyed two vehicles that were parked in the home’s carport and damaged a third vehicle that was parked next to the house.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
