Blanchard’s Second Annual Music Fest and Benefit is October 15, 2011, from Noon until 10:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Blanchard Louisiana PokeSalad Grounds.  It's absolutely free and features some great live music performances including  Monday Night Pickers, Blanchard Singing Eagles, Tildon Tillman Band, MagnoliaBrown, Drag Strip Phantoms, and Wes Jeans. This year the Blanchard PTA is the recipient of the proceeds from the benefit and the funds will be used to purchase SMART Boards for Blanchard Elementary School. The SMART Board is an interactive, electronic whiteboard which enhances instruction and learning for our children.  There will be children activities, food and drink vendors on site, and the Blanchard PTA will be selling a variety of food items as well. T-Shirts will also be available and they'll have a raffle and live auction.  Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy great music, food and fun.  “We are proud to sponsor this event for the second year,” said Mayor Digilormo. “Last year's benefit concert was for Heath Pemberton and Jamie Norgaard from Blanchard, LA.  They suffered severe brain injuries from a wreck. The event raised nearly $12,000. The festival was successful because of the generous support of the community and businesses.”  Sponsorship for this event is available as Gold $500,  Silver $250, and Bronze $100.  Donations are also being accepted for the raffle and auction. This is yet another opportunity for business to show their products and contribute to a worthy cause.  For more information please call Johnny Digilormo (318) 453-0223 or Tanya Avery(318) 489-1186.  Visit the official web page at for bandline up and additional information.
