Be on the lookout for our local Tigers later this month.

This New Year's Eve is going to be a special one. Not only will we be ringing in the new year watching our LSU Tigers take on Louisville in the Citrus Bowl, we will also have a chance to watch one of our local high school cheer squads perform before the game. The Benton High School Cheerleaders will be making the trip to Orlando to entertain the crowd.

How did it happen?

Well, according to cheer coach, Robbi Caskey, it started with a trip to cheer camp over the summer. Caskey and Beth Davis took the squad to a camp hosted by the National Cheerleaders Association. The Tigers absolutely crushed it winning Top Team, Champion Chant and several other awards. This qualified the girls to be a part of the Citrus Bowl pre-game festivities. The icing on the cake? It's the bowl game that LSU will be playing in.

The squad has been fundraising to pay for the trip.

In addition to the game, the squad will also be spending some time at Disney World. I wonder if they have room in their suitcases for me to be a stowaway. Congratulations to Benton High!
