I don't think there's anyone out there that knows me that would say, 'That Erin, she sure is a high maintenance woman.' Sure, I get manicures and pedicures regularly and I have a set appointment every five weeks with my colorist to cover my roots, but that's just basic grooming.

I love yoga pants and will often go without makeup. However, coronavirus is doing a number on me. My roots are showing and I've had to pry the acrylic off of my nails from the dip powder manicures I get because they're so grown out. Not to mention my toes... they're chipped and frankly not suitable to be seen by anyone other than my dogs. I'm just thankful I never got into eyelash extensions! I'd be looking really crazy by now!

So, even though I consider myself low maintenance, I have razor burn where a razor hasn't touched in a long time. Why? There's wax for that! My eyebrows are also starting to look a little caddywompus without the monthly shaping they receive from my trusty esthetician.

I'm not complaining really... except for the razor burn, because that sucks. OUCH! So, I decided to come up with some home grooming solutions for all of the other well-kempt southern women in my circle.

Roots - I'm not worried about my hair growing out. I can go months without a trim, however, grey roots are a REAL issue. So, I decided to order a coloring kit from Madison Reed. While delivery took a little longer than normal because of the pandemic, it actually turned out okay, even if it didn't 100% match my normal color. (Sshhh... while I can go for a while without a hair cut, it's harder on the guys. Don't tell, but I used my horse clippers on my roommate's neck. It worked like a charm! lol)

Nails - Don't try ordering a dip nail kit from Amazon, Ulta, or Walmart. They're out. In fact, they're even out of the crappy colors. Thanks to a friend online, I found out about Sparkle and Co Luxe Nails. I've made my order and can't wait to get it! It's not going to help my toes, but at least it's something. And please, for the love of all that's good in this world, don't get busted by your roommate like I did using the dog's nail grinder on your nails! Don't judge me!

Tanning - While I love a good spray tan, I sprung for the spray tan gun when I bought my Luminess Air airbrush makeup system and boy am I glad I did. I use Norvell products just like they do in the salon. You can get them on Amazon and even if you're not comfortable spraying yourself, they have plenty of lotions and mousse to help you get gorgeous sunkissed skin!

Ipsy - Are you missing facials and other beauty rituals? Try Ipsy! I got my first monthly shipment last week and have had a lot of fun playing with it. I'm loving the additional mask I added to my order... even though it looks like baby poop!

Eyelashes - I don't personally wear false lashes or extensions, so I can't help you much here. However, if you want to do them yourself, I know Duo is the way to go for glue. I've never been able to put strip lashes on well, but maybe try individual whisps to help fill them out until you can get your lashes refilled?

Unwanted Hair - I don't know what to tell you on this one other than to grab a good razor. I'm a wax girl, but I don't think I can do that on my own... Just saying!
