If you’re a Civil War buff like Gary the 33rd Annual Battle of Pleasant Hill Re-enactment is going on this weekend. The Battle of Pleasant Hill was fought April 9, 1864, during the Red River Campaign of the American Civil War between Union and Confederate forces. There are all kinds of events to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle starting Friday.

Friday April 5th:

School Day begins at 10am. To schedule a tour of the re-enactor's camp and for demonstrations for your class call 318-796-2777 (more info)

Battle of Pleasant Hill Gospel Singing at 5:30pm. There will be choirs, solos, sign language, praise dance, puppet ministry, and a small devotional. (more info)

Saturday April 6th:

Walter Lee Memorial 5K Walk-Run. The run will begin at 8:00 am, registration for the race will start at 7:30 am. (more info)

Festival / Parade / Re-enactment Parade line up will be first come first serve upon arrival. You must arrive at Pleasant Hill High School no later than 10 am and sign in to receive your line up number. (more info)

Sunday April 7th:

Breakfast/ church services/Re-enactment Pleasant Hill re-enactments and activities in the re-enactors camp will take place 3 miles north of Pleasant Hill at 23271 Hwy. 175, Pelican, LA. (more info)
