So, I guess this is my blog.  What is a blog?  Is it like an on-line diary?  If so, why would anyone want to write their diary on the world wide web where everyone can see it?  Not me, but I would like to share a few things I saw and did this weekend.  I'm gonna tell you about a great little spot to eat that you may not know about.  Also, I overdosed on my new favorite Easter candy.  And would you believe me if I told you a Bubba won the Masters?

I had family come in town this week for Easter, our tradition is to eat and eat and eat some more.  On Good Friday, we always have seafood.  We had dinner at Marilyn's Place. This is a great little Cajun/Creole restaurant on Fern Ave. in Shreveport near the Highland neighborhood.  Don't expect a 5 star dining experience, this place is all about the food.  Their motto is, "we're long on flavor, and short on service!"  This is true, after you place your order, you'll need to listen for your name called out from the kitchen.  The place is situated in a garage of sorts, and on a nice day they open the garage doors and you can be seated inside with the sun shining in.  Don't get me wrong, this is exactly the type of atmosphere I love.  Great food, covered patio, make your own drinks, and smell all the wonderful aromas emanating from the kitchen, which is essentially in the same space as the dining area.  I had the curried catfish po-boy, which is named after William Joyce. Mr. Joyce is of course a local celeb who just won an Academy Award for one of his animated shorts that he produces through Moonbot Studios!  By the way, I'm betting that you won't be able to finish an entire po-boy from Marilyn's.  Most people order a half a po-boy and still end up sharing.  If this place is new to you, check it out and thank me later.

Ok, Easter Sunday was another excuse to stuff my face.  Had a great Easter lunch with the fam, followed by CANDY!!!  I'm not a Peeps guy, I can even do without the Cadbury eggs.  My fave Easter treat this year is Reese's White Chocolate Peanut Butter Egg!  Enough said!

Finally, I spent much of Easter Sunday afternoon watching the Masters.  For some reason, the Masters tournament manages to bring casual golfers and non-golfers together to watch.  It's widely regarded as the most beautiful tournament in all of golf.  Held in Augusta, Georgia... the tourney is famous for it's piney backdrop and beautiful azalea bushes.

The main reason I'm bringing up this year's Masters is because a fella named Bubba won it!  Now, I've played golf with some Bubbas before and let me tell ya, there were way more beers than birdies.  Bubba Watson is a popular player on the tour and this is his first Major Championship.  Bubba is known for his imagination on the golf course and his inventive, if not wild, shots!  Below, you can see the shot that won him the tournament in a sudden death playoff!  He drove it into the crowd, in the trees.  Then he hit that shot out of the pine straw, around the spectators, hooked it 40 yards and landed it on the green.  Amazing!  Big week for Bubba, he wins the Masters and became a new dad, adopting a baby boy with his wife.
