Ark-La-Tex Residents Could Sue Bethesda Over Fallout 76 Video Game

Video games have become a gigantic industry over the last 25 years. In fact, earlier this year, a video game release set a record for the largest media release EVER. The game Red Dead Redemption 2 made $725 million in their first weekend of release. For example, the biggest movie opening of all time happened in 2018 as well, with Avengers: Infinity War making $640.5 million in their first weekend. That's a pretty solid gap between the greatest movie release ever, and a video game.

So with video games making this much money, there are going to be a lot of people with eyes on the industry. So when a game release doesn't go as well as Red Dead Redemption 2, people are going to notice.

Just a couple weeks ago, Bethesda Games (one of the biggest game makers in the world) released their latest installment of the legendary Fallout game series, Fallout 76.

But as the internet will tell you, the game wasn't ready. Either that, or it's just a really (really) bad game.

The expectations were so high for a game that costs $60 (or more based on what level of deluxe version you got) that when those expectations weren't matched, people got angry. So the obvious thing to do would be to ask for your money back. Unfortunately, there really ins't an easy way to get your money back. Many retailers will not refund an opened game, and the best offers from some places is to trade it in for less than half of the upfront price.

Because of the difficulty in getting people their money back, and the amount of money being thrown around in this industry, now lawyers are getting involved. The law firm Migilaccio & Rathod has announced that they are investigating a class action lawsuit to help get gamers their money back.

Which means that if you purchased your copy of Fallout 76 in Shreveport, Bossier City, or even East Texas, you could be in position to sue Bethesda over your experience with the game.
