The large list of talented Shreveport-Bossier singers aiming for the stars continues to grow. We received word on our Facebook page that Shreveport-based Zebb Rogers has auditioned for "The Voice."

Rogers, a 29-year-old singer/songwriter originally from Saline, La., spoke to Kiss Country about his rich musical history.

"I have been around music and sang all my life," he said. "My dad (Jerry Rogers) played bass/sang, and my mother (Karen McDonald) was a singer. I'm just your average country boy that loves singing and playing his guitar."

Rogers currently works as a lineman for SWEPCO, but said he hopes to "shake that one day to do what I truly love, which is music."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see just how much music talent we've got here in Northwest Louisiana. Over the years, we've been able to boast about everyone from Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Joe Stampley and James Burton to up-and-comers like Cole Vosbury, Dez Duron and Willie Jones.

Recently, Caddo Magnet high graduate Cara Watson made it to the Top 100 of the new season of "American Idol," and, as we reported a couple of days ago, former Shreveport-Bossier native Palmer Page received a "maybe" after his audition for "The Voice."

Zebb told us that he didn't advance to the next round after his February 1 audition, but promised to "keep on trying."

Hey Zebb -- with that attitude, you're gonna make it. Please remember us when you do!
