Yesterday, it was the story of a police officer getting arrested for DWI immediately after his DWI Class.  Thank goodness that one was all the way up in New Jersey, so we have plausible deniability for any lack of intelligence here in our neck of the woods....but today, that all gets erased as another drunk hits the slammer in West Monroe.According to The Smoking Gun, officers with the West Monroe Police Department arrived at an area Walmart around 2:30 Saturday morning in response to a call about a disturbance. “very intoxicated.” Butler admitted driving his 2004 Ford truck to the retailer after consuming “five to six beers.” A subsequent Breathalyzer recorded Butler’s blood alcohol content as .133.  With the legal limit .08, I’m thinkin’ those 5 or 6 beers must have been 40’s.  Butler’s fellow bumper car enthusiasts apparently escaped arrest.  Actually the bumper car thing doesn’t sound that terrible…but I bet it’s not half as much fun when you’re sober.
