Amber Goodwin Is Newest Recipient of Caught in the Act Award

How often have you seen a person who needed a hand up, and you simply just let that feeling vanish? You were busy. It was none of your business. That person might be just trying to hurt you. We come up with all kinds of excuses to not jump in to help out. But Amber Goodwin is proof that there's always a way to show a little love and it can be done safely.

For her caring heart and commitment to others, she's this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award. When you read her nomination letter that we received from Taylor Reed, you'll see just how easy the selection was this week.

Amber is the most kind hearted, God lovin’ souls that I know! Recently, she saw a man behind a local grocery store throw his backpack in the dumpster and jump into it shortly after. She was so upset that he was looking for food and after purchasing two pizzas for us here at work, she just wanted to help him out. So, she called our local police department and got them to go check on him and let him know that we had a whole pizza just for HIM! His eyes filled with tears and the cop, Mr. Van was quick to come back and let Amber know that he gratefully accepts her pizza. She stated to the officer that “I’m only doing this out of the kindness of my heart because we truly never know when that could be us or what happened to him to get him to where he is now. I wish there was more I could do for him but for now I will pray for him.” That pulled on my heart strings and she is mo st deserving of this award!!!!

 

Amber Goodwin, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
