Pretty sure one of the best decisions I have made in a long time is living the broke life in exchange for a plane ticket. I had been telling my boyfriend about the need for a trip to Seattle and he finally agreed to go with me. The most expensive part of our trip was the mac and cheese and grilled cheese sandwich from Beecher's Handmade Cheese other than that the trip was surprisingly affordable. Here are 5 things you need to do when you visit Seattle.

1. Take a Ferry ride. Maybe I wanted to feel like Dr. Meredith Grey riding the ferry to her home as she is leaving Seattle Grace Hospital. The best part about taking a ferry is ending up in a cute little town that you would have never considered visiting. We ended up in Bain Bridge Island and had some of the best sweets and coffee ever! We should have made the drive to Forks, any "Twilight" fans?

2. Put gum on the gum wall. It's more of an alley really. So many tourists are there, and thinking of the germs on that wall has me kind of grossed out right now. However it is one of the coolest grossest things ever!

3.Take in the view from the Space Needle. I hate roller coasters, I hate heights. The elevator ride up to the Space Needle is a tad unsettling but you'll never see another view like this one. On a clear day you can even see the mountains. Our view wasn't perfectly timed, but it was still one of a kind amazing.

4. Take a drive to Snoqualmie Falls. It's a 45 minute drive away from all the action in Seattle but the windy roads and the moss covered trees make you think you're in a movie. If you believe Sasquatch tales and know that Bigfoot is alive and well you'll have to visit the gift shop nearby. We didn't see Bigfoot, but we did get some Bigfoot stickers and key chains.  The view is unreal, take a rain jacket, it's so cold but the view is worth the cold toes.

5. Spend several hours at Pike Place Market. From the throwing of the fish, to the fresh beautiful flowers the market is cheap, fun, and entertaining. The art and crafts people sell is the best kind of souvenir. You'll have to stand in line for several minutes to get Piroshky Piroshky the famous Russian bakery, and enter the first ever Starbucks across the street from the market but at least you get bragging rights!

Disclaimer: There is no Seattle Grace Hospital, Sorry "Grey's Anatomy" fans. There isn't a Mr.Grey hoping to "see you now" either, sorry "50 Shades of Grey" fans. I'm seeing a Grey pattern here Seattle!
