$1,500 Found in Blanchard Treasure Hunt

Two women, who work at Barksdale Federal Credit Union in Blanchard, have found Blanchard's Poke Salad Treasure. Neil Kalberg says Brittney Burt and Theresa Ryan will share the $1,500 after finding it with the fifth clue on day five Friday.

The Treasure Hunt began Monday, with a different clue each day leading as a treasure map to the money. Here are some of the clues, which helped the women find the prize.

• Don't be led toward the Lone Star (don't go west toward Texas) and the red (don't go east toward the Red River).
• From the main, parallel and across. Main Street is parallel with the railroad tracks, so the clue was saying go across the railroad tracks.

The treasure was found on a bridge railing on Bostwick Road. Kalberg says this year's clues were harder than last year's. The Poke Salad Festival congratulates Brittney and Theresa!
