As things slowly start to normalize, have you taken the time to reflect on the things you learned during the coronavirus pandemic? I know I sure have. It's been a stressful year, but at the same time, I think a lot of us learned more about ourselves and what's truly important. With that being said, here are 10 takeaways or life lessons that I learned during the pandemic.

1. It's okay to not be okay. The last year has been stressful between the pandemic, the election, riots, storms, hurricanes, etc... I think a lot of us used the time to work on ourselves and how to ask for help.
2. Delivery workers are the bomb! We owe a debt of gratitude to our mail carriers, UPS and FedEx drivers, truckers, and all the folks who deliver for Waitr, Grubhub, etc... Some of us would have starved without you!
3. Healthcare workers are heroes.
4. Being a teacher is a lot harder than we ever imagined.
5. Relationships with friends and family are what's important, not things.
6. Masks suck.
7. Grocery pickup may be the best thing since sliced bread.
8. Being considered an 'essential' worker isn't all it's cracked up to be.
9. It's important to count your blessings. I don't think any of us will take good health for granted again.
10. Empathy... While it may seem that we were at each other's throats for most of the year between debating about politics, racial equity, and conspiracy theories, I think a lot of us learned that it's not all about us. No 'man' is an island.

I'd love to hear about your reflections on the last year. Do you feel as if you've grown as a person? And no, I'm not talking about the 'quarantine 15!'
