Monday's twin explosions at the 2013 Boston Marathon
The Boston Globetold Piers Morgan in an interview last night

"I was just approaching the last straightaway for the finish line, and I had a good day and was feeling really good and I got down to about 15 feet of the finishing apron when a tremendous explosion that sounded like a bomb went off right next to me," said Iffrig, adding, "the shockwaves just hit my whole body and my legs started jittering around and I knew I was going down."

Iffrig said that he didn't feel any severe pain; he luckily only suffered a small scratch on his leg. Someone quickly came to his aid to help him get up and finish the race. Amazingly, he was composed enough to make the 6-block trek back to his hotel and his wife.
