Danny Huffstickler is a well known local guy. Growing up in Shreveport, he was very athletic playing football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to pursue his sports in college at Baptist Christian University as was eventually drafted to play baseball for the Boston Red Sox. After his baseball "playing career" ended, he continued on as a coach. He's touched countless lives in a positive way.

Okay, we're a little biased when it comes to Haughton High School Athletics. The oldest "McCoy Boy", Buddy, graduated from Haughton last year and the other 2 McCoy boys are still in the Haughton school system, so we've got a little equity in it and our opinion might be a little jaded, but no one can dispute the success that Coach Hal Harlan has enjoyed with what is now 4 straight years of undefeated district play.
