Shreveport Police veteran, Cpl. Robert Rivet was injured in an ATV accident Aug. 24, 2011, and suffered traumatic brain injury. Because of the vast expense of the medical treatment, his personal funds are extremely limited and his friends and family are trying to raise additional monies for the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van.

Changes To Independence Bowl Shuttle and Fan Fest
If you're headed to enjoy some of the activities prior to the 4pm kick off today of the Independence Bowl, the Fan Fest has been moved from Fair Grounds Field to indoors at Hirsch Coliseum. If you're planning to use the The I-Bowl shuttle, make note that it will now just drop off and pick up riders at its original and normal location as in past years- on Greenwood Road

Our Shriners Hospital is more than just a life saving institution. It's a world wide ray of hope for kids of all races, origin and financial background and was the first in the Shriners health care system. Having a nephew who's spent countless days in Shriners, I can personally testify to how incredible this place really is. And you might remember, a couple of years ago it was in danger of closing because of funding. Well, several individuals and organizations stepped up to prevent this catastrophe and High Lifter and Applebees are among those. And they've teamed up again this year for "The High Lifter Shriners Ride".
