Thank you to each and every Veteran for your service!  You are our hero! Though we could never repay the debt we owe you, please know that our appreciation is limitless.  If you've never witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery, spend a minute with this video.

The American Red Cross is kicking off its 2011 "Holiday Mail for Heroes" program. For the 5th year now,  Red Cross and Pitney Bowes have partnered to reach out to members of the military, veterans and their families trying to ensure all have a happy holiday.

As Kiss Country is honoring Veteran’s this Friday with George Strait Concert tickets in the FIRST FIVE ROWS, many other establishments are also spending Veteran’s Day offering free merchandise and deals to military veterans, retirees and active-duty service people.

Hawkeye did not leave his master's side, even during funeral services for the fallen soldier. Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson was recently laid to rest after his life abrubtly ended along with 29 other American service members in a Chinook helicopter crash earlier this month in Afghanistan.

I missed the first episode of TLC's Surprise Homecoming hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus. Honestly, I don't even think I could handle watching the full episode that premiered this week. Based on my reaction to the sneak peek video (included here) I would most likely be a sobbing mess if I were to watch the full length show.

All local high schools have graduated their seniors.  The final graduation ceremony was held last evening at the Shreveport Convention Center, and was C.E. Byrd.  The Ark-La-Tex Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America is handing out 26 scholorships totalling $31,000 to deserving local and regional high school graduates at an event to be held Saturday, June 4th.
