Red Cross Continues Opening Shelters in Louisiana
The American Red Cross has opened more shelters in Louisiana as of Wednesday 8/30/17 at 4:00 pm. The American Red Cross is leading a mighty Hurricane Harvey relief effort. The Glenmora shelter in Louisiana reached it’s capacity Wednesday afternoon. American Red Cross opened up another location in Glenmora, LA at Christian Love Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. As of Wednesday 08/30/17 the American Red Cross added a Shelter in Northwestern Louisiana The Morning Star Baptist Church at 5340 Jewella Ave in Shreveport has been opened as a shelter.
Red Cross Shelters provide victims with a safe place to stay, three meals a day, and health services. American Red Cross is urging victims to if possible bring their prescriptions and emergency medications, ID’s, chargers for any electronic devices you may bring with you, Supplies needed for infants such as diapers, formula and toys, and special items that elderly family members may need.
