The NRA Institute for Legislative Action hosted an appreciation luncheon for State Representative Jeff Thompson to recognize his leadership on Second Amendment issues in the Louisiana Legislature and present him with a plaque thanking him for his efforts on behalf of gun owners and sportsmen across Louisiana.

In addition to authoring NRA-backed legislation Rep. Thompson was also recognized for his effective leadership and advocacy in supporting other important legislation as well as defeating some proposed laws aimed at infringing on citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

“Representative Thompson has been a champion for gun owners and hunters in Louisiana and has been instrumental in defending the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves and their families” commented Tara Mica the NRA-ILA Louisiana State Liaison when presenting the award to Rep. Thompson.

In receiving the award Rep. Thompson commented: “Our rights to keep and bear arms and to protect our families predate the U.S. Constitution and I am proud to stand for hunters and law abiding citizens in defending those rights.” Thompson is also founder of Defend Louisiana, a pro-second amendment rights organization.
