It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas here in Kiss Country.  I mean, a whole LOT like Christmas.  With Christmas activities at the center of most events this weekend, there's certainly a lot going on, but we did manage to find a few other things to enjoy.  Here's the list of all the things we found for you and the family to enjoy.  

  • River Cities Shop-a-Palooza

This year’s River Cities Shop-a-Palooza is this Saturday, December 6 at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs and Racetrack. It’s sponsored by Macaroni Kid Shreveport-Bossier and WERLA. Doors open at 7 a.m. and you can shop until your heart is content until 3 p.m. Some of the featured vendors include Paparazzi Jewelry, Younique, Made by Faith,
It’s All in the Bag etc. and Femmesleigh Designs

  • The KCS Holiday Express "The Christmas Train" Comes to Shreveport

The KCS Holiday Express, a festively-decorated, six-car train that brings Santa Claus and his elves to communities throughout the U.S. at scheduled stops, will visit Shreveport on Saturday, December 6.  The train will pull into the Kansas City Southern Railway Company’s Shreveport Yard, Gate 5, 4500 North Lakeshore Drive, at 4 p.m. The train will depart once the last tours have been given, usually around 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. No ticket is required.

  • Christmas on Caddo

This year the Christmas on Caddo Fireworks Festival will celebrate their 20th year of holiday festivities on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 3:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Earl G. Williamson Park in Oil City.  Known as the only holiday fireworks show in Northwest Louisiana, Christmas on Caddo is a free event complete with entertainment, concessions, Santa Claus, family fun and more.

  • Breakfast With Santa at Sci-Port

Breakfast with Santa at Sci-Port is a yearly tradition that brings families and friends together for food, fun, science and Santa. The event includes a pancake breakfast, a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Play Santa Bingo for prizes. Make an Edible Sleigh. Create magic Scratch Ornaments. Learn about Christmas Chemistry using Gumdrop Atoms. See a special frozen Liquid Nitrogen demonstration at 9:30 a.m., IMAX® movie, Santa vs. the Snowman at 10:00 a.m.

  • Natchitoches Christmas Festival Parade

The Natchitoches Christmas Festival is set for Saturday, December 6. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the corner of University Parkway and Jefferson Street. The fireworks show will begin at 6:00 p.m. over Cane River Lake.   • Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA Championship Game

Louisiana Tech is heading to the Conference USA Championship game against Marshall. The Conference USA championship game is this Saturday at 11 a.m. in Huntington, West Virgiina and you can watch it on ESPN2.

  • Tracy Byrd Concert at The Stage at Silverstar

Tracy Byrd will make his first appearance back in the Arklatex in several years tonight at The Stage at Silverstar. Local favorites Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws will open the show. Doors will open at 7:00 pm for this 21 and up show.  Get tickets at thestagebossier.com or at the door.

  • Rodney Carrington Concert at Horseshoe Riverdome

Comedian/singer/actor Rodney Carrington will appear in concert Saturday night at 8:00 pm at the Horseshoe Riverdome. Tickets range from $40 to $65. Get them at Ticketmaster.com
