It’s Poke Salad Festival Week in Blanchard, La.

This is that time of year the most infamous weed in the pasture gets to shine like a bouquet of roses!  It's Poke Salad Festival week in Blanchard!  The activities actually begin at 8:00 this morning with the release of the first clue in the Poke Salad Festival Treasure Hunt. 

Go HERE each day to get the new clue.  Then be sure to take in one or all the days of the carnival beginning Thursday at the Poke Salad Festival grounds in Blanchard near the elementary school.

The carnival runs from 5pm to 9pm Thursday, 6pm to 10pm Friday and from 10am to 11pm Saturday.

New this year is the Karaoke contest "Poke Salad Idol" with the preliminary rounds from 4pm to 6pm Friday and the finals Saturday at 2:35pm.

And the ever popular Poke Salad Festival Parade will begin at 10am.
