First Ever Caddo Lake Fishing Rodeo Worth $12,000 Set to Begin in May
The Louisiana Greater Caddo Lake Association has teamed up with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries for the first ever Caddo Lake Fishing Rodeo!
The Rodeo will start on the first Saturday in May (May 6) with Oil City Gusher Days and will run through 5:00 pm Monday, September 4, which is Labor Day. Up for grabs is $12,000 in cash and prizes!
Here’s how it works: Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries will tag 50 fish of various species and each tag will have a number associated with a prize.
Here’s a picture of what the tag looks like.
Do not pull the tag out if you plan to release the fish. Just cut it off, but please try to first take a picture of your fish and remember where you caught it.
Along with the Louisiana Greater Caddo Lake Association there are additional sponsors providing cash and prizes for this rodeo including: Drift Inn Landing , Caddo Outdoors, and Southern Smoke BBQ.
Stop by any of the sponsor locations for more information and to keep up to date on everything or join the next La. GCLA meeting April 11th at 7:00 pm at the Oil City Town Hall.
April is renewal month for La. GCLA and any active membership between now and May 6th will be eligible for a $100 cash bonus on the first 10 tagged fish.
